At Great Lakes Powertrain, our goal is to provide the highest quality remanufactured transmissions. Core returns play a pivotal role in our business, ensuring that each customer receives the best quality transmission in a timely manner. We strive to maintain a well-stocked inventory to meet all our customers' needs.
To preserve your warranty, all cores must be returned within a 14-day window from the date of shipment. Schedule your core return by calling (855) 204-8268 within this timeframe. Cores must be received in-house within 30 days of shipment. Failing to meet this requirement necessitates payment of the core fee to retain the warranty; otherwise, the transmission won't be covered. Great Lakes Powertrain may opt to charge for the core up front.
Ensure your transmission is drained thoroughly and the converter straps are bolted to the transmission. Place it in the tote provided with your unit. Please note that transmission cores must be free from damage or cracks to be accepted. An unusable core necessitates a rebuildable replacement. If a damaged core isn't replaced or paid for, the warranty will be voided.
When scheduling a pickup, please provide your Invoice # or Vin #. We will create a Bill of Lading (BOL) and email it to you, along with a mutually agreed pickup time. Print the labels we provide: one should be affixed to the shipping crate containing the transmission core, while the carrier will take the remaining two and give you a receipt with tracking information.
